Now all their hard work has paid off as they catfight to scoop their prize at ‘The Brit Awards.’
Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott and Florence & The Machine are all nominated for three gongs each.
Florence, Lily and Pixie will battle Bat For Lashes and ‘X-Factor’ star Leona Lewis for the title of Best British Female Solo Artist, and Gaga has bagged nominations in the International categories for best Breakthrough Act, Female Artist and Album.
But one lady who’s been left out of the UK’s biggest music awards show is classical Queen Susan Boyle.
Despite recording the biggest-selling British album of 2009, Su-Bo doesn’t appear in a single category.
As for the boys...Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian and Paolo Nutini will battle it out with Florence and Lily for Best British Album. And Robbie Williams, who will perform at the event next month, has received the Outstanding Contribution to Music prize.
Aussie acts Daniel Merriweather and Empire Of The Sun are both up for International Breakthrough Act, with the electronic music duo also being nominated for International Album.
