Country-poppet Taylor Swift has recorded a special 'West Side Story' tribute to celebrate the 2009 MTV VMAs being held in New York.

The 'Tears On My Guitar' gal recorded a version of 'Tonight' - a classic song from the '50s Big Apple-based musical and filmed a special video-clip to go with it.

The clip will be melded to together with clips filmed by Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Cobra Starship and horny host Russell Brand (keep your hands to yourself, Russ), and the finished result will air on TV in the week leading up to the show.

Now the 19-year-old can't wait for her fans to see her doing full-on "Broadway."

Taylor, who's up for the Best Female Video gong for 'You Belong With Me', told MTV: "It's gonna be me and a bunch of artists, and we're shooting individual versions of the song. Mine is shot in a vintage old cab.

"My version was pretty theatrical because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I'm just like, 'There's no way to do this and not play it up.'"

Yee-hah.
