Travelling the globe, covering the best music events and interviewing the world’s hottest celebs – it’s just a day in the life of MTV VJ Amber Peebles!
A one-time make-up artist, Amber first landed on the scene when she represented NZ at Miss International in 2003 and at Miss World in 2004.
But there’s more to this girl than looking good in an evening gown and propping world peace; within a few months the home-grown starlet was content to ditch the pageant crown and springboard into the wonderful world of broadcasting. She’s featured in reality shows such as ‘City Celebrity Country Nobody’ and ‘Sing like a Superstar’ and landed a gig working at radio station The Edge, before securing the coveted spot as MTV New Zealand’s very first VJ.
Since then, the bubbly fashionista has covered the MTV Video Music Awards from New York (the first Australasian MTV presenter to do so) and has been a part of countless shows including ‘MTV NZ Kickstart’, ‘MTV Snow Jam’, ‘Australia's V Fest 09’, ‘Almost Famous: Amber in LA’, and co-hosting of the Red Carpet Special at the MTV Australia Awards 2009.
Her other duties at MTV include writing and presenting MTV News every fortnight, and being the female voice of MTV New Zealand.
Last year Amber and her co-host Jay Reeve became the first MTV VJ Unicef Ambassadors.
